Responsibility Level:
As part of materials team will research, source, procure and document goods and materials used in production process.
Principal Duties
1. Determine purchasing needs through requests / forecasting.
2. Involved in Sourcing and contact vendors.
3. Negotiate terms for procurement of supplies and / or equipment.
4. Place orders, raise necessary paperwork and then acknowledge receipt of items.
5. Maintain databases on purchased items, inventory levels, tooling etc. and then use data to prepare regular reports and data analysis.
6. Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Purchasing experience in manufacturing environment of medium volume, custom products. Knowledge of manufacturing process.

Our client seeks an experienced Electro-mechanical Buyer with either CIPS or a recognised qualification like a degree, to purchase materials and services to meet the Companys cost, quality and delivery requirements.
Further Details:
Key duties:
1. To place purchase orders and action MAX data as required.
2. To manage suppliers to achieve improvements in cost, quality and delivery in accordance with business KPIs.
3. To develop and maintain Life Cycle Management Plan for all products.
4. To manage inventory in line with business objectives.
5. To raise and process relevant documentation for returning defective parts to suppliers.
6. To liaise as necessary with sub-contractors and materials control to ensure continuity of supply. Support IMT meetings and maintenance of Man Plans.
7. To maintain MAX system, ensuring MRP purchasing-related data is accurate.
8. To progress suppliers as required by MRP demand date.
9. To maintain purchase order status (by amendments).
10. To report MRP data statistics to the Purchasing Manager on a weekly basis.
11. To attend meetings as required.
Qualifications and Experience
ESSENTIAL
CIPS Qualified with proven buying experience within an electro-mechanical environment
Or
Extensive acknowledged and recognised buying experience within an electro-mechanical environment and with other appropriate qualification i.e. HNC or degree. With some formal Procurement training.

Our client seeks an experienced Materials Planner with strong MRP skills (ideally MFG-Pro) from a fast-paced JIT/FMCG engineering supply chain sector, to co-manage all aspects of customer service in order to achieve the budgeted/ forecasted sales orders and on-time deliveries to the customer base, which encompasses on time delivery of all related ancillaries. You must have experience of material/production scheduling and planning via MRP/ERP systems, with a strong customer-facing bias. This role is liaising closely with the customer on a daily basis to ensure 100% on time delivery, it is not a managerial position, there are no direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify customer schedules.
Input customer schedules manually where required.
Analysis of customer schedules/orders to understand and highlight significant variation.
Liaison with customers to understand their needs and reasons for change to requirements.
Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all customers including regular telephone contact and face to face meetings as required.
Off site visits to customer bases to further develop established working relationships.
Ensure early notification to the appropriate departments of issues that could impact on delivery performance.
Support a strong link to both production areas including regular, up to date, information feeds and quick reaction to customer and production related issues.
Attendance and reporting at daily production review meetings.
Level schedules and plan production sequence required to meet customer requirements whilst maximizing production capacity.
Generate and distribute op cards to production as required to meet current production cell needs.
Ensure on time delivery of all related ancillaries and plates.
Generate monthly sales forecasts.
Monitor turnover achieved and adjust plans where possible/necessary to ensure that plant turnover is met.
Highlight any risks to financial achievements.
Provide daily requirements data and status reports to meet business needs.
Monitor and report delivery performance.
Achieve DSA 100% of OE and AM.
Control stock, WIP & Finished Goods, ensuring adherence to Kan Ban systems & including consignment stock.
Control of returnable packaging.
Maintain packing & labelling instructions as part of the site quality standard.
Involvement with suppliers as and when necessary to ensure no service issues.
Complete customer generated reports relating to logistics activities.

Interim Subcontract Manager

Overview of role:
The primary purpose of the position is to manage all subcontract activities, together with the technical team, from pre bid stage to major award. This will include the negotiation, implementation and ongoing performance monitoring of subcontract activities against defined targets. This role is focussed on the front end of the subcontractor management process and a professional interim is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will work closely with Major Bid teams to ensure that all subcontracts are in place for successful delivery of major bid wins.
Further Details:
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will expect to travel extensively across the UK and lend their expertise to a number of different projects.
