Packaging Buyer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Packaging Buyer to join our successful Purchasing team.
Further Details:
You will be responsible for commercial negotiations, sourcing new items of packaging and actively researching new opportunities.
It is also essential that you have the ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the business, create excellent working relationships with both internal customers and
suppliers and work within the company values.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate sourcing and buying expertise across different packaging categories and have the ability to develop new products from concept through to
product launch. A good knowledge of environmental requirements and industry best practices is essential.
To be successful you will need to utilise supplier expertise to deliver innovative ideas and solutions, and have the ability to integrate the company’s principles into strategic direction for packaging, with associated plans to develop the packaging category.
FMCG/food (retail or manufacturing) experience is highly desirable.

Our client is a leading international healthcare manufacturer. They are looking to fill two Buyer roles:

CONTRACTS BUYER:
The contracts Buyer would ideally have both direct and indirect experience. However they will initially be working on contracts for Raw Materials and Packaging only, so it's more essential that they have direct experience and ideally additional knowledge of SLA's, CNDA's. A real bonus would be Technical Agreements or knowledge of Pharma Regulations.
They will be working alongside each Buyer and supplier to develop a robust contract that can then be handed over to the Buyer in future to maintain. Currently we have over 100 contracts we would like to put in place. They will also be covering all of Healthcare UK. Some elements of Travel will be required to visit UK sites and strategic suppliers.
DIRECTS BUYER:
For the other Buyer they will be covering a mixed Packaging and Raw Material portfolio with a spend of around 17 million.

ROLE: Purchasing Platform Buyer
REPORTS TO: Divisional Purchasing Manager

Main Purpose
Co-ordinate the Purchasing, Divisional and Supplier activity aimed at introducing new Projects with the Quality, Cost and Delivery requirements specified in the new product introduction process.
Relationships
Internal : Group Purchasing Manager, Divisional Purchase Managers, Material Controllers, Engineering Managers, Divisional Quality Managers
External: Suppliers, Independent test houses
KEY RESULT AREAS
Quality
Involvements in Simultaneous Engineering activity on all new projects with the Division to ensure all relevant Purchasing New Product Introduction milestones are achieved.
Cost
Facilitate pre –Job 1 VA/VE activity with suppliers and engineering to ensure design for cost focus for all components.
Cost tracking to ensure suppliers, designers and buyers are focused on achieving the cost targets set for each project.
Support relevant buyers in supplier negotiations for the component production price and production tooling cost.
Innovation
Champion relevant supplier co-design process within multifunctional team.
Ensure early involvement of the supply base in the New Product Introduction Process and that the correct suppliers are selected using Group Buyer commodity strategy. There must be a particular focus upon the opportunities to source to low cost countries.
Act as a representative of Group Purchasing within the Division and implement Group Purchasing strategy where applicable.
Delivery
Ensure and measure supplier achievement of ISIR sign off.
Management
Manage the interface between Purchasing, the suppliers and the Division for each new project to ensure successful communication of objectives, timing, cost target etc.
To be responsible for co-ordinating new model nominations with strategic buyers and divisional buyers where appropriate.

PRODUCTION PLANNER
Further Details:
To globally plan materials under their control (including purchased finished goods from third party suppliers) to minimise inventory and scrap whilst maximising product availability. Responsibilities include forecasting, production planning, capacity planning, inventory balancing, reorder point planning, inventory positioning, product allocation and product availability. Provides relevant information concerning movement of items to internal and external customers. Decisions and errors impact operations in stores, quality control, work-in-progress, excess and obsolete inventory and the availability of finished goods.
Degree or equivalent in Business/Purchasing/Science subjects or related subjects. An equivalent demonstrated and developed knowledge in industry may be considered as an alternative. A working knowledge of World Class manufacturing principles coupled with strong interpersonal, motivational, communication (written and oral) and organisational skills.
'Get-up and Go' attitude to completing and ensuring the completion of all tasks.
SAP experience desirable.
