You will ideally have some sub-contract experience, though that is not essential as our client are happy to look at candidates with Materials & Plant Procurement experience obtained from working within either another Construction or Civils Contractor or a House Building Company. If this is the case you should have a drive and eagerness about you to develop Sub-contract Procurement skills and knowledge in order to grow and progress within the company.

Overall Purpose/Objectives of Role
To purchase materials and services to meet the Company’s cost, quality and delivery requirements.
Key duties:
1. To place purchase orders and action MAX data as required.
2. To manage suppliers to achieve improvements in cost, quality and delivery in accordance with business KPI’s.
3. To manage inventory in line with business objectives.
4. To raise and process relevant documentation for returning defective parts to suppliers.
5. To liaise as necessary with sub-contractors and materials control to ensure continuity of supply. Support IMT meetings and maintenance of Man Plans.
6. To maintain MAX system, ensuring MRP purchasing-related data is accurate.
7. To progress suppliers as required by MRP demand date.
8. To maintain purchase order status (by amendments).
9. To report MRP data statistics to the Assistant Purchasing Manager on a weekly basis.
10. To attend meetings as required.
Experience:
Essential
• Previous experience of purchasing electro-mechanical goods
• Previous experience of working within a sub-contract environment
• Ability to assess a supplier’s capability and develop good working relationship with them
• In-depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
• Previous experience in negotiating best terms on price, delivery and service
• Previous experience of internal customer liaison
• Good understanding of the need to satisfy customer demands and expectations
• Understanding of the commodity marketplace
• Strong negotiating skills
• Good team player
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Good time management skills
• Ability to problem solve
• Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Understanding of the importance of satisfying both internal and external customers.
Able to understand the balance required within business for inventory and cash management without impacting Sales output.
CIPS Qualified with proven buying experience within an electro-mechanical environment
Or
Extensive acknowledged and recognised buying experience within an electro-mechanical environment and with other appropriate qualification i.e. HNC or degree. With some formal Procurement training.
Able to work overtime when required
Current driving licence
Able to undertake occasional UK travel

Logistics Manager - Distribution Manager - Supply Chain Manager
Essential: Proven experience in liaising/auditing/managing warehouses processes. German language highly desirable.

Title of the role: Logistics Operations Planning Manager/Logistics Project Manager
The role is based at the offices in Basingstoke but will require regular travel to various sites e.g. Poland & France and also various Warehouses based all over europe and perhaps occasional travel further abroad - average might be 1 week away from home per month - will vary - might be more during initial induction period.
The role will have one direct report initially - Logistics Operations Coordinator (this person started new in this role in April - after fulfilling a senior sales coordinator role within the company for two years)
This may increase with time.
The Person must have excellent communication skills and proven experience in coordinating with various departments: Material Planning and Control, IT, Operations Planning, Warehouses etc. Must be able to arrange and lead cross functional projects. Able to audit processes and identify weaknesses.
Proven experience in liaising/auditing/managing warehouses processes.
The direct report - logistics operations coordinator - speaks fluent english and italian with some french and will maintain main contact with relevant warehouses etc requiring these languages. This new role - operations planning manager - will have to speak fluent English and German - as he/she will be mainly dealing with the german warehouses/contacts; amongst others.
Must have a logistics qualification and a sound understanding in Logistics, including import, export requirements and Incoterms.
Must be able to calculate holding costs, operations costs and packaging loops. Also be a competent writer of customer's communications.
Experience with BPCS (MRP Systems), EDI, and Barcode labelling would be a huge advantage.
