Main duties:
" Driver of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning Process)
Assist with new product development
Preparation of customer APQP files
Preparation of PPAP package on Decoma / customer agreed format
Status monitoring and approval of supplier PPAP package during project stage
Key FMEA team member
Generate and update Control Plans
Establish significant and critical characteristics with customers and suppliers
Statistical analysis of results from capability studies and produce reports.
Liaison with Production Engineering and Programme Management during and following analysis to enable process development
Co-ordination and management of DVP testing
Co-ordination of new gauge fixture measurement system analysis including calculations (R&R studies).
Co-ordinate obtaining fit and finish approval from customer.
Co-ordinate obtaining colour and grain approval from customer.
Co-ordinate obtaining master samples from customer.
Work on projects as directed by Quality Engineering Manager
Support trials as required to provide Quality advice and support
Responsibilities:
Quality engineering of new products onto site
Knowledge of quality standards
To project a professional image of the company to customers / visitors
To use the escalation procedure for any issues / concerns e.g. Quality / downtime
Skills & Experience:
ONC in engineering or relevant experience
QS9000 APQP process
Manual dexterity
Ability to work on own initiative, good communication, literacy & numeracy skills
Strong attention span with a good eye for detail

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (conveyor system experience essential)
Reports to: Design Team Leader
Overview
Design and develop engineering systems. Consult with engineering management, fellow designers, Production, Sales, and Marketing to establish design concepts and manage through to production.
Duties / Responsibilities
To produce designs and subsequent manufacturing drawings and related documentation using primarily AutoDesk Inventor CAD software.
Design systems based on design-function relationships, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, production costs, and client specifications.
To undertake mechanical design calculations when required.
To undertake material and equipment specification.
To discuss and interpret requirements and to prepare concise engineering specifications as a prerequisite to design.
To discuss and resolve design related production problems with in-house manufacturing departments, sub-contractors and suppliers.
To review customer provided tender documentation and assess to compliance of company products to customers' requirements. To respond formally to the Sales Dept. providing technical information on the degree of compliance and corresponding non-compliance.
Develop own personal technical competence.
Keeping up to date with changes to applicable UK and European legislation.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Prerequisites
5 years relevant experience in the design of electro-mechanical machinery, food/pharmaceutical machinery or similar equipment with an appreciation of the following:
o Conveyor systems
o Pneumatic systems
o Engineering constructional materials
o Precision mechanical assemblies
o Food or pharmaceutical constructional materials and finishes
o Noise control
Degree qualified or equivalent in mechanical engineering or relevant technical design discipline.
A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or other appropriate structured training would be expected. In the case of a graduate, sufficient suitable post graduate industrial training and experience.
Minimum 5 years industry related experience in mechanical engineering at the design and implementation level.
Creative with experience in New Product Development from concept through to production.
Experience of DFMEA is desirable.
Experience in design for manufacture as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. fabrications, castings).
Hands-on experience of a 3D CAD system preferably Inventor including actual production of working designs.
An appreciation and understanding of relevant UK, European and International standards, codes of practice and procedures.
Experience in the provision of engineering support within a company supplying capital goods to the food, pharmaceutical or automotive industries would be an advantage.
Experience of working directly with customers in a technical capacity.
Microsoft Office proficient.
Willingness for occasional overseas travel (typically two or three day trips, 4 or 5 times per year).

* 4k systems and cryogenic techniques;
* Dilution refrigerators and high frequency RF design;
* Design for manufacture techniques and processes and cryofree systems development;
* Cryostat, low temperature insert design and ideally UHV design;
* Practical experience in modelling and analysing complex cryogenic system engineering e.g. ANSYS, VF, COMSOL or similar;
* Cryogenic systems design or development to include some of the following: the use and principles of operation of cryocoolers, 4He variable temperature inserts, 3He inserts, 3He/4He dilution refrigerators;
* CAD design; in 2D and 3D including FE Structural Analysis, preferably experienced in ProE;
