Main Purpose of Job:
Carrying out production engineering ensuring that NPI project activities/timescales are fully supported. Provide technical assistance in the resolution of any problems on existing products to facilitate production output.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute as required to the preparation of technical proposals to customers.
To ensure that standard approaches are taken and documented in the form of a procedure for general production engineering activities.
Manage the introduction of new products ensuring new product specification contains features to aid manufacture.
Liaise with engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new product designs.
Ensure production engineering is represented at Engineering change note meetings and problem solving analysis of non conformance.
Preparation of new/existing manufacturing documentation and tooling required for product manufacture.
Apply knowledge and skill to assist in the introduction of new technology in order to improve quality and productivity.
Tooling and test equipment design. Estimating of new product costs and maintenance of existing cost standards. Generation, as appropriate, capital authorisation requests for plant or tooling.
Improve the efficiency of the operation on terms of quality, cost and delivery.
Involvement in continuous improvement activities, process improvements and lead initiatives.
To maintain a high standard of housekeeping within production engineering.
To be familiar with Health and Safety and to attend mandatory updates when required.
Any other reasonable duties as requested
Skills and Qualifications:
5 year electro-mechanical production engineering experience in a manufacturing support role.
HNC/Degree level in an Engineering discipline
Proven experience within production engineering.
Proficient with the use of Microsoft office standard business tools.
Experience of interrogating MRP systems.
Skilled in the reading and interpretation of engineering drawings.
Experience of developing and improving processes and procedures.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to generate engineering reports.
Organisational skills.
Scheduling and prioritisation skills.
Experience of continuous improvement techniques
EB Welding and TIG Welding experience would be an advantage.

Overall Purpose/Objectives of Role
1. Develop and implement structured engineering solutions to meet programme requirements across the whole development lifecycle in accordance with customer requirements, legislation, human factors and business needs.
2. Be responsible for the control of own work to meet agreed technical, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Key duties:
1. Capture and define requirements through a disciplined and rigorous approach to requirements management and ask challenging questions about the requirements to ensure understanding.
2. Construct and implement embedded engineering solutions including detailed design, contribution to technical reviews and performance optimisation.
3. Generate, perform and validate results of verification plans, test plans, analysis, test case design and other specific kinds of tests including flight tests, system tests, development tests, unit tests, component tests, integration tests, regression tests, stress tests, acceptance tests and qualification tests as appropriate.
4. Generate work products conforming to all aspects of technical and quality requirements by following robust configuration control, review and change management processes.
5. Assist in the compilation of plans, estimates, task lists and risk management plans in support of programme objectives, project estimates and bids.
6. Work with customers, other engineering disciplines and other internal departments across the whole development process and respond to their requests in a timely and professional manner at both the clients and customers premises as required.
7. Perform internal project activities and work with external sub-contract organisations, whilst maintaining focus on achieving goals with a positive can-do attitude.
8. Contribute to continual process improvement, in support of the company business and strategic objectives.
9. Undertake any other engineering related tasks commensurate with this post as required by the IP Team Lead.
Essential Experience:
" Proven and extensive electronic hardware design skills. This should include experience of the complete design life cycle from interpretation of a requirements specification through design, development, debugging and documentation to design proving and certification.
" Recent, relevant experience of at least 3 or more of the following:-
" designing microprocessor circuitry
" designing analogue circuitry (e.g. amplifiers, filters and signal sampling)
" logic design and schematic capture techniques.
" low voltage power supply and/or power switching techniques.
" designing to meet EMC and/or lightning design protection requirements.
" Experience of preparing circuit board and equipment level test specifications.

Tyne and Wear based Automotive first tier supplier urgently seeks up to 4 Catia V5 Trim and Interior Design Engineers for long term contracts or on a permanent basis.
Contract
£20 to £25 per hour
Role:
To design Automotive Trim and interior components to the requirements of the customer and the client.
Design and package Interior systems and associated components.
To be aware of customer design requirements e.g. design manual, SDS etc.
Preparing of engineering change proposals.
Participating in customer and supplier design meetings.
Participating in TVM workshops.
Responsibility of the design content for the closure of AIMS at the virtual Series Build.
100% accuracy of CAD to 2D and 3D.
100% Support of the PLM Releasing System.
Provide Component / Assembly Engineering Drawings in line with company standards.
Review, sign off and support the release of Directed Source and Supplier released drawings within the PLM system.
